The SLX carbon fibre water fed pole honest review by Jarvis Window Cleaner we only review window cleaning equipment that we have personally have used and we have used the Gardiner SLX a number of times and although we do not personally own one we would highly recommend the SLX for a number of reasons.

Firstly we highly recommend the water fed pole system as the primary method of window cleaning because it is safer and does a better job of cleaning the glass and frames. Although traditional window cleaning is how we started our window cleaning business in Surrey. We have seen how the water fed pole does a better job cleaning the frames because the brush gets into all the little cracks of a frame and with the right technique you can get a spotless finish every time. Now you have decided on investing in the water fed pole system you now need to decide what pole to buy? Which company will you buy a pole from? What material should the pole be made out of? Carbon fibre? Carbon composite? Glass fibre or even aluminium? Yes I know someone who has an aluminium pole! Not the best!

Water Fed Pole (what is the #1 Material)?

If your a fan of F1 you will know that Carbon fibre is lightweight and strong. So it will make for the lightest and toughest water fed pole on the market. Carbon fibre obviously will come at a price, is it worth the extra money? That’s something that only you can answer with the budget you have and how much you can spend on a water fed pole. Also do you have the work to warrant having a premium pole? For example the SLX is about £70 plus VAT more expensive then the Gardiner CLX a carbon composite pole.

Water Fed Pole (Which Brand To Choose)?

There are so many water fed pole choices! Ecolite, facelift, ionic, Gardiner and so many more. Which one should you choose. Well we would say that is a personal choice just as you may prefer one F1 team or driver over the rest, you may have a brand of water fed pole that you like and are familiar with and they all do the same window cleaning job you require it to do: hold the weight of the brush head and to be telescopic so you can reach 28ft high windows. Jarvis Window Cleaner like Gardiner water fed poles, they are reliable have good quick release clamps and affordable.

SLX vs CLX (What is The Difference)?

The Gardiner SLX 27 is priced at £290 plus VAT. It is extremely strong and reliable and Gardiner give you a good brush head with it. Working reach 32ft, 6 sections, extended length 8.1m. Weight of this carbon fibre pole is 1.67kg with a closed length of 1.5m.


The Gardiner CLX 27 is priced at £215 plus VAT. It is described by a number of professional window cleaners on Facebook as “whippy” because it does bend more than the SLX but we have never seen it snap or brake at full stretch. It is more bendy than the SLX. Same reach of 32ft with 6 sections. Extended length of 8.1m and closed length of 1.5m. It weighs 1.8kg a difference of 130g. The weight of an apple!

Bottom Line For The SLX
